The challenge
The question was never "can this be built". It was "is this worth building". That makes the deadline the specification: anything that couldn't be finished in four weeks was out of scope, and anything that wouldn't change the decision wasn't worth doing at all.
The approach
Cut to the loop that matters: author a course, take a quiz, see progress. SvelteKit on the front, FastAPI and PostgreSQL behind, deployed early so people could use it instead of review it. Course editing shipped alongside course taking, because a learning tool nobody can add content to answers nothing.
The outcome
A working platform in four weeks, used internally, with enough real feedback to make the call on a larger build. It got a verdict instead of another round of meetings.
